C-550-DII
RATED CAPACITY:
Rated capacity is for 5 in. to 6.75 in. (127 mm to 172 mm) using rotary or down-the-hole hammer drilling for depths up to 148 ft. (45.1 m).
STANDARD MOUNTING:
Standard mounting for the C-550-DII is a heavy-duty, CAT® Series 325L, 23.5 in. (600 mm) wide Triple Grouser Type with 3 point oscillating suspension and a two speed hydraulically driven tram.
PULLDOWN SYSTEM:
Up to 40,000 lb. (18,144 kg) bit loading capacity with a maximum of rated pulldown of 35,000 lb. (15,878 kg), 19,792 lb. (8,977 kg) hoist capacity. Maximum hoist rate 204 fpm (62 m/pm). Maximum feed rate 122 fpm (37 m/pm). REGEN increases feed rate to 194 fpm (59 m/min). Chains: Two heavy duty roller chains 2 in. (51 mm) pitch. Stroke: 34 ft. (10.4 m) for 30 ft. (9.14 m) drill pipe. 10 in. (254 mm) table opening.
ROTARY HEAD:
0 to 141 rpm at 64,345 lbs-in (7,271 Nm) torque. (Based on 100% efficiency). Equipped with nylon guide shoes. Optional speeds and torques available.
AIR COMPRESSOR:
900 CFM (25.5 m3/min) @ 125 PSI (8.6 Bar) with an Air Pressure Regulator is standard. Synthetic PAO, ISO 32 compressor oil is provided. Optional—1070 CFM (30.3m3/min) @ 125 PSI (8.6 Bar) with 630 HP (470 kW) Caterpillar C18 ACERT diesel engine; 900 CFM (25.5 m3/min) @ 350 PSI (24.1 Bar) with 540 HP (403 kW) Caterpillar C15 ACERT diesel engine; 1070 CFM (30.3m3/min) @ 375 PSI (25.8 Bar) with 580 HP (433 kW) Caterpillar C15 ACERT diesel engine; 1150 CFM (32.6 m3/min) @ 375 PSI (25.8 Bar) with 630 HP (470 kW) Caterpillar C18 ACERT diesel engine.
POWER UNIT:
Caterpillar C15 ACERT diesel engine, rated 540 HP (403 kW) @ 1800 rpm with 375 gal. (1,419 L) fuel capacity.
MAST:
Heavy duty structural steel mast with angular stress members and steel plated reinforcement at high stress areas, total length 40 ft. (12.2 m), raised and lowered by two 5.5 in (140 mm) diameter hydraulic cylinders equipped with safety counterbalance valves. Hydraulic powered mast lock pins are provided as standard equipment.
LEVELING JACKS:
The C-550-DII utilizes three (3) leveling jacks, all 48 in. (1.2 m) stroke, with built-in safety checks. All jacks are 5 in. (127 mm) diameter bore.
DRILL PIPE HANDLING:
The standard C-550-DII is equipped with a 4 + 1 hydraulic indexing barrel loader to handle 30 ft. (9.1 m) drill pipe, 4 in. (102 mm) to 5.5 in. (140 mm) diameter. Hydraulic breakout and power tong system are standard. Also included is a 2,200 lb. (998 kg) fixed-over-hole winch for pipe handling.
AIR FILTERS:
Individual heavy duty two stage dry type filters with a pre-cleaner for engine and compressor.
NIGHT LIGHTING:
A combination of Xenon HID and H
alogen flood lights for viewing upper mast, table, power unit, and deck are provided.
OPERATOR’S CAB:
Isolated operator’s cab and control station, air conditioning, sound abatement, and cab pressurization are provided as standard.
